Plastinated Specimen Visual Gallery

Welcome!

Welcome to the Plastinated Specimen Virtual Collection! This visual database contains photographs and brief descriptions of all plastinated specimens available in the Anatomy Laboratory of the University of Michigan Medical School.

These specimens were prepared by the University of Michigan's Plastination Laboratory and are made available for anatomical education of medical students. Good examples of the other specimens prepared by the Plastination lab can be seen here.

Using this site:

The plastination collection is divided into four rooms, each designated by one of four colors: Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. Use the links on the left to select the desired collection.

Each thumbnail lists the specimen reference number, which consists of the first letter of the color, followed by the reference ID (e.g. Y123456). Clicking on a picture will give you an enlarged photograph as well as a brief description of the specimen.
