Previous research interests focused on the ultrastructure of biliary system and peripheral nerves. More recent research involved techniques to develop living cellular linings for vascular prostheses and cardiac assist devices through grants and contracts with the NIH and artificial heart program of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Since closing my laboratory, I have focused on development of curricular and course materials for gross anatomy, especially involving the internet.
