The U-M Memory Connection launches in February 2012:
A one-stop resource to learn about U-M memory loss and dementia services

As part of its three-prong mission, the MADC is committed to enhancing the understanding of memory loss and dementia through education and outreach efforts. Within the University of Michigan (U-M) community, this mission will be accomplished through the work of the U-M Dementia Consortium. Established by the MADC, the Consortium is comprised of dementia experts from various U-M departments and institutions. The Consortium aims to serve as a centralized U-M memory loss and dementia resource, and develop and implement programs and/or materials designed to meet the educational needs of U-M patients and families affected by memory loss or dementia. The first task underway is the development of a call center, U-M Memory Connection.

The U-M Memory Connection is designed to be a one-stop resource to learn about and connect to U-M memory loss and dementia services. Our goal is to help individuals and families affected by memory and/or thinking changes to learn about services in an easy, non-stressful way. Calls will be answered by a trained professional who understands conditions such as Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body disease, Frontotemporal dementia, and Vascular dementia. If you have questions, the U-M Memory Connection may have the answers. Call 734-936-8803
