The Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center (MADC) is committed to serving as a local and statewide resource on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Established partnerships within U-M and the community have allowed us to successfully accomplish several educational and outreach objectives.
Key MADC initiatives include:

Establishment of U-M Memory Connection. As part of a U-M collaborative, the MADC assisted in the development and implementation of a memory loss advice line. The UMHS-wide call center, U-M Memory Connection, is designed to help individuals and families affected by memory and/or thinking changes learn about services in an easy, non-stressful way. Join us for our Couples Gathering

Join us for our winter series of Catching Your Breath

Collaboration with three local Chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Michigan, Michigan Great Lakes, and Northwest Ohio. Together, the MADC and the three local Chapters developed a “Your Journey” toolkit, which was recently featured in three community programs. The toolkit is designed to help individuals and families affected by memory loss or dementia gather, organize and connect to community services that can help plan for the future. The programs, which emphasized the importance of living well with memory loss, were attended by over 500 professionals, individuals with memory loss and family caregivers. Additional journey programs are being planned for the fall of 2012.
