The Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC) actively participates in advocacy efforts aimed at increasing funding for Alzheimer’s research and for community services and programs that support people affected by Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder.

- Legislative Day 2008
On Tuesday, May 6, 2008 the MADRC joined Alzheimer's Association staff in Lansing to help advocate for better Alzheimer's care for Michigan families. Dr. Bruno Giordani, Courtney McDonald, Aviva Meyers Nathan and Cassie Starback met with state legislators to help them better understand the physical, emotional, and financial demands that Alzheimer's disease places on families.
- Fundraising
The MADRC hopes to raise $10,000 for the 2008 Memory Walks. Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, our fundraising events have been very successful!

- Memory Walks 2008
The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. This year, the MADRC will be sponsoring and participating in 5 local Memory Walks, including locations in Detroit, Lansing, Jackson, Adrian and Ann Arbor.
