MADRC Community Appreciation Conference

Honoring 20 years of commitment to research on memory and aging

Learn from distinguished guest speakers about past, current and future trends in dementia research.  Panel discussion will follow presentations.

Memory Walks 2008
The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. The MADRC will be sponsoring and participating in 5 local Memory Walks this year, which include locations in Detroit, Lansing, Jackson, Adrian and Ann Arbor. We are coordinating a MADRC Team for the Ann Arbor Memory Walk. Alzheimer’s patients sought for fish oil study
(07/27/07) Every day, millions of Americans take fish oil, hoping that the omega-3 fatty acids inside will protect their brains against memory loss and dementia. But no one knows for sure whether it really works. That’s why a new national study has been launched at 51 sites, including UMHS, to test the effects of omega-3s in people with a high immediate risk of brain decline: those in early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
