About Us

The MADC Commitment to Memory and Aging Research, Care, and Education

Established at the University of Michigan Health System, through affiliation with the Department of Neurology, the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center (MADC) aims to a) conduct and promote research on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders; b) ensure state-of-the-art care for individuals experiencing cognitive impairment or dementia; and c) enhance the public’s and health professionals’ understanding of dementia through education and outreach efforts. The infrastructure of the Center stems from a 20 year history as an NIH-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

Moving forward with private funding, the MADC continues to promote the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders through key research, clinical care, and outreach efforts. Please help us help you as we learn how to best meet the educational and support needs of the community and local researchers. Your input is valuable to us!

The success of the MADC depends on financial support from donors who appreciate what we do and want to help our mission. If you wish to support the goals of the MADC through a donation, or find out more about how you can help in other ways, please contact our MADC Coordinator, Cassie Starback at (734) 936-8764 or cassiem@umich.edu. Every bit helps.
