Clinical research has made great strides towards improving our understanding of Alzheimer's disease and advancing dementia care. Patients and families who agree to participate in research are vital to this effort. The Clinical Core invites patients and families to become involved in a variety of research activities, including new treatments for memory loss or other symptoms, neuroimaging studies to evaluate the brain regions affected by disease, and caregiving and genetic studies. Research participation can benefit families through access to a caring, committed, highly qualified staff, regular evaluations and ongoing educational resources.
In addition to seeing patients at the University of Michigan Medical Center, the Clinical Core has established a satellite clinic at the Family Practice Center in Ypsilanti.
