Dr.Aruna V. Sarma, Ph.D., M.H.A
Dr.
Sarma’s research interest lies in the field of epidemiology
of benign and malignant prostatic conditions. Her research endeavors
include the study of the natural history of and racial variations
in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer. She is
a primary investigator of The Flint Men’s Health Study, a
population based study of prostate disease in an African-American
population.
She also leads a collaborative effort with the Mayo Clinic in the
examination of racial differences in BPH using The Olmsted County
Study of Urinary Symptoms and Health Status Among Men, a comparable
population based study of prostate disease in white men.
