Catherine Keegan, MD, PhD Dr. Catherine Keegan, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Human Genetics, is to be inducted into the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Julie Lumeng, M.D. Dr. Julie Lumeng is a newly elected council member to SPR representing Behavioral Developmental Pediatrics.
Samya Nasr, MD, BCh Samya Nasr, MB, BCh, and the Pediatric CF Program will receive the Quality Improvement Award.
Cheung, Vivian Vivian G. Cheung, MD, Professor of Pediatric Neurology has been selected as the Vice President-Elect of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) with this election she will serve as the President-Elect in year two and President in year three.  Dr. Cheung is a HHMI investigator and Research Professor in the Life Science Institute.  Dr. Cheung currently is serving on the Board of the American Society of Human Genetics, the Council of the NIH/ NIEHS and the ASCI Council. 
Sung Won Choi, MD Sung Wan Choi, MD has been selected to the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute Emerging Scholar Program. As the Edith Briskin/SKS Foundation Emerging Scholar, Dr. Choi, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases, will receive funding to develop her research studies in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) — the major complication of bone marrow transplantation in which the newly transplanted material attacks the transplant recipient’s body. Craig Byersdorfer, MD received The Midwest Society for Pediatric Research (MWSPR) Sutherland Award. The Sutherland Award is presented for the outstanding abstract presentation by a junior faculty member.
Castle, MD

Valerie P. Castle, M.D., Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases and Ravitz Foundation Professor of Pediatrics, has been elected to serve as Vice-President of the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs for 2 years beginning in 2013, followed by 2 years as President, and then as Past President for an additional 2 years.

Steve Leber, MD Dr. Steven M. Leber, Professor of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases and Professor of Neurology, is the recipient of the University of Michigan Medical School Dean's Outstanding Clinician Award, 2013.
Kathryn L. Moseley, MD, MPH, FAAP

Kathryn L. Moseley, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P. was appointed to the American Medical Association's Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs. Dr. Moseley also currently serves as Secretary of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.

Matthew M. Davis, M.D., M.A.P.P. The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) appointed Matthew M. Davis, M.D., M.A.P.P., as Michigan's chief medical executive effective March 18, 2013. In this capacity, Dr. Davis will serve Michigan citizens by providing professional medical leadership, expertise and coordination in addressing public health issues, workforce issues, and health policy development to the MDCH.
Howard Markel, M.D.

Howard Markel, M.D., Ph.D., the George E. Wantz Distinguished Professor of the History of Medicine and director of the Center for the History of Medicine, has been appointed editor-in-chief of The Milbank Quarterly (Milbank Memorial Fund) as of October 1, 2013.
Dr. Markel was appointed to membership on the Board of Population Health and Public Health Practice at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies through 2015.
