The Mata-Fink laboratory, co-directed by Drs. David Fink and Marina Mata, is located in the Biomedical Sciences Research Building on the campus of the University of Michigan Medical School and at the affiliated VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.

Research in the lab is focused on the development of modified herpes simplex virus (HSV) based gene transfer vectors as tools for understanding - and the development of novel treatments for - disorders of the nervous system. The first of these vectors is in phase 2 clinical trial, and two other human-grade vectors are being produced for clinical trials..
