Multiple Sclerosis Center

Multiple sclerosis, often called MS, is a disease that affects the central nervous system-the brain and spinal cord. It can cause problems with muscle control and strength, vision, balance, feeling, and thinking. Learn more about it on the Multiple Sclerosis section of the Health Library - part of the UofMHealth.org website.

Our MS Center is accredited as a Center for Excellence by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The center provides diagnostic services and comprehensive care for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). We also provide expertise in immunomodulatory management aimed at controlling disease relapse and progression. When indicated, we manage symptoms related to MS such as fatigue, spasticity, tremor, pain and urinary dysfunction.

We also coordinate care with ancillary providers, including physical therapists, neurophyschologists, physiatrists, pain management specialists and urologists.
