Stanely's Kids Fund
The Toto family created a fund in honor of their daughter Alex who underwent two successful vascular surgeries at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital with Dr. James Stanley as her surgeon. Dr. Stanley is one of the few surgeons in the world to specialize in vascular surgery on young children, particularly on the renal arteries. He pioneered the field over 30 years ago and now has a long track record of successful outcomes. He operates on children from all over the world and his patients are affectionately known around U-M as "Stanley's Kids."
"Stanley's Kids" is a fund that helps pay for travel, lodging and living expenses of families who bring their children to see Dr. Stanley.
Donations are put to good use! In April 2010, a four-year-old boy from North Carolina underwent an incredibly complex operation required to save the young child's life. The Stanley's Kids Fund assisted the North Carolina family in covering lodging and meal expenses during the boy's stay at Mott Children's Hospital.
