GULF WAR HEALTH HOME

UMHS HOME

Upon returning home from war, most Service Members feel the same as before they were deployed. However, some people will feel their health is not as good as it was before leaving.

If health does not seem as good, it is possible that your body is experiencing a reaction that has affected Service Members after nearly every war.

The symptoms that commonly occur in Service Members after war include the following:

The Bad News

  • There is no single drug that cures these symptoms
  • If left untreated, these symptoms can get worse and remain with you.

The Good News

  • These symptoms are usually not the result of a severe or life threatening illness
  • These symptoms can be successfully managed. In some cases this can be done by you alone, and in other cases your physician, and even family members, should be involved.
