The University of Michigan Department of Dermatology Research Programs are well-established and maintain focus in four key areas:

  • Aging Skin and Photobiology of Skin
  • Skin Biology and Cancer
  • Psoriasis Genomics and Pathophysiology
  • Psoriasis/Autoimmunity in Skin Immunology and Immunogenetics

This research includes basic science, translational, bioinformatics and clinical research. Our research teams use state-of-the-art approaches to further the understanding of normal skin biology and a wide range of skin disorders. Advances that elucidate disease mechanisms will lead to the development of novel and more effective approaches to treatment.
