Clinical Studies

The University of Michigan Department of Dermatology has a highly developed clinical research program with faculty committed to furthering the knowledge and understanding of dermatologic conditions and treatments. Our physicians, faculty, fellows and residents have both experience and expertise in a wide range of dermatologic areas.

Our clinical research programs work together with our basic science programs to translate our discoveries into new therapies. Current initiatives include:

Familial Psoriasis Study

Our Psoriasis Genetics Research group is working to unravel the genetic complexities of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. A critical component to this work is the collection and study of genetic material from affected persons and unaffected, unrelated controls. The group is also interested in the collection of large families with five or more affected family members. For more information about the Familial Psoriasis Study and related research please explore the program's web site.
