Several of the units comprising the Basic Radiological Sciences Division
(the Digital Image Processing Lab, the Ultrasound Group, the 2T MR Lab,
and the Division's administrative offices)
are located on the 3rd floor of the Kresge Research III Building
which is near the center of the Medical Center at The University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Kresge III is shown on either of two maps of the Medical Center:
see the eastern
map or -- better yet -- see the
western map).
It is located near the intersection of Zina Pitcher Place, Catherine St. and Catherine Place.
Other maps developed by the
UM Medical Center
are available that may be useful in locating the Medical Center from nearby highways;
refer to the two Washtenaw County maps.
In addition, Pathology Data Systems has developed
a set of directions and maps.
We have annotated one of these maps to show
parking around the Kresge complex and entrances into the building.
You may also wish to use
an interactive map (courtesy of MapQuest)
to create another view of our locale and the surrounding area;
click on the map to re-center it,
and use the zoom controls to navigate as desired.
The main entrance of the Kresge Building is on the east side of Zina Pitcher Place
between Ann and Catherine Streets.
Note that this entrance places you on the 4th level.
Walk straight through the lobby, and
take the stairs or elevator (on the left) down to the 3rd level and turn left.
Walk down the hall about 30 feet, and enter the wooden double doors
on the left that are labeled "R3300".

Note, however, that this map is somewhat out-of-date
as it does not reflect recent changes in the configuration
of certain parking lots and streets on the Medical Campus.
Refer to the text accompanying the map for details.
Additional visitor parking is available in
some of the parking structures near the Kresge Building
as marked by "V" on some of the maps
(particularly the
"eastern"
and
"western"
Medical Center maps).
These structures are generally within a 4-8 minute walk from the Kresge Building.
One-day guest parking permits may be available from the Division office (room 3315).
You may enter the Kresge Building via the sliding doors at the rear (east side)
of the building just west of the Upjohn Center.
These doors lead directly into our facilities on the 3rd level.
Parking and directions into the building
Parking meters may be found on the west side of Zina Pitcher Place
between Ann and Catherine Streets
and along Ann Street between Glen and Observatory Streets.
(The parking meters that were formerly available in the "M-27" parking lot
have been removed.
Do not use the parking spaces in this lot as these require a U of M permit.
Also, avoid the lot labeled "M-6" on Ann Street
and the parking structures on Catherine Street;
they contains no visitor parking -- only U of M permit parking.)
Bus service
The east side of Zina Pitcher Place between Ann and Catherine Streets
serves as a bus stop for several
University of Michigan buses,
as well as buses of the
Ann Arbor Transportation Authority.
This bus stop is convenient to the main entrance to the Kresge Building
(see above).
