Arranging Transport

To transport your patient to a University of Michigan Health System hospital, you can either work with the transferring hospital to set up ground transportation (ambulance, car, taxi, etc.), or, when appropriate, use our Survival Flight service.
Survival Flight is a helicopter and fixed-wing service which transports patients from hospitals or injury-accident scenes as far as 200 miles away to the University of Michigan. Our Survival Flight service includes the expertise of specially trained pilots, flight nurses, respiratory therapists and physicians who are available at five minutes' notice, 24 hours a day. To contact Survival Flight, call 800-822-2233. For more information, visit the official Survival Flight Web site.
