Moving
Being physically active plays a big role in protecting you from many diseases and in maintaining your weight. You may also see improvements
in sleep patterns, mood, body shape and energy level. Whether you have just started thinking about engaging in physical activity or are
presently physically active, the Physical Activity for Life team will guide you in building your personalized exercise plan in the
MFit, Weight Managment Program, Healthy Habits for Life.
What to Expect
To get you started on your physical activity journey, the Physical Activity for Life team will ask you to perform a fitness assessment.
The fitness assessment includes some basic tests to measure your aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility.
Following your fitness assessment you will sit down with a health and fitness specialist to review your assessment results and help
you set your physical activity goals. During your fitness consultation you will be given some tools to help get you started. One of the
tools is a step counter. You will have the opportunity to learn how active you are throughout the day by using your step counter
and discover ways to easily add more physical activity into your day.
